Knicks week in review: a first win over Detroit after an 0-3 start, with Chicago and Philadelphia next
The champions fell to 0-3 in Boston and against Orlando, then beat unbeaten Detroit 111-97 behind 27 and 20 from Towns. Every result, and the next five games.

The Knicks needed a week to look like the team that won the title in June. They lost close games in Boston and at home to Orlando to fall to 0-3, the first defending champion to start that way since the 2011-12 Dallas Mavericks, according to the Associated Press recap on ESPN. Then on Tuesday they ran unbeaten Detroit off the floor in the middle two quarters. Here is every game from the last seven days and the five coming up. All times are Eastern.
The week began a game down: Philadelphia beat the Knicks 106-100 on ring night at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 20.
